A WEDDING
INVITATION
To create a picture with brushes and paint,
This talent to me God's not given;
But I would like, with words and ink,
To "paint" an invitation to Heaven:
There's an elaborate banquet being prepared
In the uppermost regions of the air,
By the Great God of the Universe---
And He desires your presence there.
He's giving it in celebration
Of the marriage of His Son,
The Lord Jesus Christ, Who died and rose
And lives eternally---the Holy One!
The Bride? the living church of God;
Through tribulation, fire and sword
She has trod, in expectation,
Remaining faithful to her Lord.
The time? According to the Word
Of God, it can't be long,
Until we hear the shout, "Come up"!
And join in the wedding song!
And now I add an R.S.V.P.
And ask you please not to delay.
Search your heart; be sure you are ready
For that glorious Wedding Day!
