WHEN OTHERS DO WRONG TO YOU, FORGIVE THEM.
Today there is so much violence.
People who do violence cannot love themselves or anyone else. They are blinded into
thinking this is the course of action they should take if someone wrongs them in any way.
In essence, they take the doctrine of kill and be killed, eye for eye, tooth for tooth.
The children of God take the view
of nonviolence. If someone does wrong to them they love and have compassion on their
aggressor. They pray for them that they may see the error of their ways and turn to God.
The New Testament tells us that we are to Love our enemies, if you are slapped on one
cheek to turn the other also, if you are compelled to walk one mile; instead walk two.
What did Jesus do when He was dying
on the cross? He said "Father forgive them for they know not what they do." The
next time you are wronged; remember the words of Jesus. Also the Scriptures tell us
we must forgive others in order for God to forgive us.
Matthew 6:14 - Yes, if you forgive
others their sins, your Father in heaven will also forgive you for your sins.
Matthew 5:44 - But I say unto you,
Love your enemies. Pray for those who hurt you.
Luke 6:35-36 - But Love your
enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without hoping to get anything back. Then you
will have a great reward, and you will be children of the Most High God, because He is
kind even to people who are ungrateful and full of sin.
Prayer: Dear Father train me in
Divine Love and Divine Goodness. Amen.
