Death
Is death the end of something, or the beginning?
Living in a temporary and confusing world, limits our ability to understand death or beyond death.
This is the problem, the trouble and the fear, of not knowing.
Wanting to know the future, but being unable.
Death is the withdrawal of life's energy from a physical body.
This withdrawal causes the physical body to return to its natural elements.
The question is - Where does the life energy (or Spirit) go? , when it withdraws from a physical body.
Death, is like leaving a home, that you have long occupied.
You do not want to leave your home (the body), and you are afraid of where you are going to live.
We are told to read about: after-life, and heaven or hell,
it only increases the anxiety and fear about leaving the physical body, and going into the unknown.
We are told that eternal joy or eternal suffering awaits us,
but not really knowing which one we will have.
We hope for eternal joy, but we fear eternal suffering.
Religion increases the fear of death.
Trying to evaluate our own existence is not easy. Trying to determine if our lives have been good or bad.
You cannot reach a logical conclusion.
Because many times, the negatives tend to equal the positives.
And this leaves us with the decision: Have we lived a good life, or a bad life?, and What future awaits us.
Have we been good or bad, both or neither?
Each person, is living and reacting, to their own unique set of experiences,
while being influenced by many others.
We feel good about ourselves, when we think that we have caused someone to be happy. And on the other hand,
we feel bad, when we think that, we have caused someone unhappiness.
We feel these things, even if others do not feel the same way about it.
These thoughts - are in our own minds, not in their minds.
So we judge ourselves as: good or bad.
Death is the thing that troubles us, as we determine, if we are good or bad.
Should we evaluate our own actions and make final decisions based on our actions.
Why be so proud, and think, that you are so smart, that you can evaluate yourself correctly,
or judge yourself as: worthy or unworthy.
Even this question is ridiculous.
We have all done both.
We have all made others happy, and made others unhappy.
Even trying to make sense of the world is ridiculous.
The world has no obvious logical meaning. Even the Bible tells us that: "All is Vanity, under the sun".
We can easily see the vanity, by looking at the lives of others, who have: worked, planned, built, saved,
and then had everything they struggled for, vanish, in a storm, fire, or earthquake,
and then dying by accident or disease.
Living in the world is like building sandcastles on the beach,
and the tide washes it all away, not leaving a trace of our lives.
Many generations have: lived, worked, planned, built, and died.
This generation will do the same.
Why live in fear of the unknown future?
It is ridiculous to worry about the unknown.
Some people say, God put us here to do a work, to learn and grow.
But wars have been fought because of religious beliefs.
Is killing other people God's Will?
Did God put others here, to be killed by you?
People can be taught to hate and kill, by persuading them, that - "God is on their side".
Leading them to battle and to kill others.
Leaving them with bad memories, guilt and shame for their acts of murder and violence.
Maybe God, uses reverse psychology, and just wants to see who will have mercy, compassion and resist the battle cry,
and be loving and non-violent, even when others are fanning the religious flames of hate and war.
But even to speculate about God's will is also ridiculous.
All the scriptures of all religion can be interpreted differently by people.
But God is invisible, and who knows the will of God?
The Bible says: - "It is not God's will that any should perish",
and yet people perish every minute of everyday.
And we are told to take up our cross and follow Jesus: meaning, to let others, torture and kill us, and our families,
while clinging to the hope that this is all pleasing to God.
Who would not protect their families?
God's will is not, and cannot be understood, by us.
The question is: What is your will?
Are you going to be violent or non-violent?
How many people would you kill to save your own life?
Are you wanting to live at any cost?
This is the struggle to survive. But this is also ridiculous.
Its like being in a fish bowl - where the only thing to eat - is other fish.
One fish must die, for another fish to live.
The world has limited resources, and they are claimed by people.
People struggle for limited resources.
In order to survive.
People struggle for food, energy, and shelter.
Some people have much and others have little.
This is inequality of resources.
But those with many resources (the rich), dominate the world, while those without resources struggle
and suffer many of their days in the world.
Whose without many resources steal, and do other things, to feed their children.
Can you blame someone, for wanting their children to survive?
Is it better: to let your children die hungry, or steal bread and let them live?
They would not have to steal, if those with plenty would share their resources.
They should not feel guilty for saving the lives of their children.
The rich deserve to loose their resources, for not sharing.
Do not feel ashamed for your time in the world, or the things you have done.
And do not condemn your fathers or mothers, for their actions.
But rather, give thanks, that by knowing their imperfections,
you are made wiser and able to avoid the same mistakes.
And the same applies to the imperfections you see in everyone -
give thanks that you are made wiser for seeing them.
And don’t be so proud, to think - that you really know........ anything.
